Background Ruth lived during the time of the
events of the book of Judges.
Ruth was not an Israelite. She was a Moabite woman.
The Moabites were enemies of Israel during the time of the judge named Ehud.
God was not pleased when the Israelites served the gods of Moab and other nations.

of how God Works through all kinds of people in different circumstances...to
accomplish His purpose.

In the Old Testament, the Israelites were the chosen nation of God, but God
showed his love and mercy to all people who trusted in Him.
"For the eyes of the
Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully
committed to him."
(II Chronicles 16:9a)
